Me and my husband stayed in the Squirrel run for a couple of nights over the half term.
When we arrived to check in, Paula was there to greet us. She was very friendly and ran through everything we needed to know before meeting us at the property. When we got to the Squirrel run, we were amazed at the house in the trees. The photos do not do it justice.
The place was clean and well designed. The views were lovely and the hot tub was bigger than the pictures led us to believe. We both fit into it comfortably side by side to admire the views with a glass of wine each night. The place has a tv with dvd player(and a selection of dvds), reading material, microwave, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits, cutlery and plates and bowls etc. toiletries and dressing gowns. It was very warm and cosy, and the bed was comfortable. Outside there is a firepit and bbq area which we would have loved to have used, if the weather had been nicer.
The basket of continental breakfast, delivered each morning at a time arranged by us, was great and plentiful. There was even warm toast, croissants and pan au chocolate.
We enjoyed a walk out in the countryside even though the weather wasn't on our side and visited Amersham old town to see the historic buildings. There are plenty of pubs close by to eat out and small supermarkets for the essentials.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this tranquil house in the trees. We wanted relaxation and to be away from our hectic lives for a few days and that is exactly what we got. The only downside was having to leave!!
